Intersociety Young Fellow Collegiality Awards

Who is Eligible?

  1. A member of the JSID
  2. Currently active in investigative dermatology at a university department or laboratory or institution in Japan
  3. Under age 40 as of April 1
  4. Not a professor
  5. Submission of an abstract for International Investigative Dermatology (IID) 2018
  6. The past awardee of Collegiality Awards will not be accepted.
  7. You can apply for Intersociety Young Fellow Collegiality Awards and IID2018 Travel Grant at the same time. But in case you are selected as an awardee of Intersociety Young Fellow Collegiality Awards, you should decline IID2018 Travel Grant. The same shall apply to IID2018 International Trainee Retreat.

What are the Benefits?

  1. There will be an opportunity to present and discuss your data by visiting a department in the U.S.A..
  2. A diploma will be given from JSID and the awardee will be able to include the award in his or her curriculum vitae.
  3. The JSID will award up to 300,000 yen to cover travel and accommodation expenses.

NB Registration fees will need to be borne by the applicant. The awardees shall submit a visit report, an accounting report and the receipts of travel and accommodation expenses.

How many awards will be available?

Up to six awardees.

How can I apply for an award?

An application need to be submitted by e-mail to the JSID office (e-mail: office2@jsid.org)

*Make sure to put "Intersociety Collegiality Awards" in the subject box. The Applicant will be informed when JSID office receives the applications.

Applications should include:

  1. One-page CV
  2. The name of the department (or institution) to visit in the U.S.A..
  3. A brief note (a letter or an e-mail) from the head of a host department in the U.S.A. confirming future acceptance.
  4. A copy of the abstract submitted for International Investigative Dermatology (IID) 2018.
  5. A list of abstracts for presentations given at past JSID meetings
  6. A list of publications (papers in English)
  7. Recommendation letter from the chairman of an affiliation.

Note: Please prepare all application documents in English. Submit as a PDF file including 1 to 7.

Who will evaluate the applications?

The panel will be comprised of 4 representatives of the JSID.

When will Successful Applicants be notified?

The JSID will aim to announce the names of the successful applicants in April.

  • The JSID very much hope that these awards will help develop the careers and profile of young researchers by providing the opportunity for international exchange and collegiality.
